"I love painting surfer girls. Something draws me to them. These girls are cool without trying, they're confident in who they are without apologizing, they're free without asking permission. They're empowering.
When I paint these girls, I'm painting a girl who's resilient and fearless. Who doesn't care what you think of her, because she knows she's a badass.
You have to be to be a surfer. The ocean is strong, and it will rock you when you fall (which you will) you'll get crushed, and hurt and bloody, and you'll keep getting back on your board for more, it's Exhilarating! It's also peaceful and insanely fun.
In these painting I aim to show the strength, grace, and determination of women riding the waves, breaking barriers, and inspiring others to conquer their own oceans."
